For nearly 2 decades, Andrea Corbine’s son has inspired her to work hard, believing that she can achieve all heights and climb every mountain. When he was young, everything Andrea did was about building a better life for him. She moved from being a “banker” to the consulting world when he was nine. The deeper Andrea dove into Risk, Compliance, Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Human Trafficking, etc., and the more she worked with local, federal, and international governments, the more her priority shifted from building a better life for her son more so towards trying to make her small contribution to building a better world for our youth. Whether it is doing presentations/speaking engagements/training the US Marshals, FBI, Homeland Security, etc., on inherent risks with today’s financial products or auditing banks in the Caribbean to confirm they are not holding or moving illicit funds, Andrea and SightSpan are highly motivated to ensure they are working towards a greater tomorrow.

Andrea’s deep and robust experiences with traditional banking, payments, and the FinTech industries allow her to guide multiple clients and team members, simultaneously, to success. As an Executive team member of SightSpan, Andrea’s attention to detail and level of focus is second to none. Her ability to define creative solutions, navigate issues (whether they are regulatory, operational, or business based), and create sustainable/repeatable processes are pivotal to SightSpan’s growth and that of its clients.

When asked about her success, Andrea says, “It depends how you define success. I define success as having the ability to live your passion. I started my career in the banking industry with traditional products.” She says, “I would search every day for the specific thing that made me feel I was serving a greater purpose. When I moved over to the Payments/FinTech world, the answer was a bit easier for me as we were creating new solutions for the underserved (in addition to many other innovative products). Making the decision to join John nearly 10 years ago on the consulting side of banking was easy. Rather than searching for reasons I felt I was helping, it became my single purpose every day.”

Armed with this mindset, Andrea and her team are taking the company to new heights. SightSpan is a boutique advisory group with local and international expertise in risk management and security matters. SightSpan team members use their specialized skillsets to identify risks, measure risks, analyze the probability of a risk event occurring, and design risk mitigation strategies. SightSpan offers risk management advisory services to financial services firms, including banks, brokers, MSBs, payments, prepaid card services groups, governments, and organizations needing short-term, on-demand, compliance, and security expertise.

SightSpan supports its clients in their company’s growth while taking a risk-based approach and keeping them compliant. Quite simply put, they support financial companies to implement controls that, ideally, will prevent them from being used to move funds gained from illicit activities (Human trafficking, terrorism, drugs, etc.) as well as partnering with clients as an extension of their Executive team helping to make risk-based business decisions.
