Curonix, following Dr. Andrea Trescot, MD, DABIPP, FIPP, CIPS, as Chief Medical Officer, is dedicated to providing innovative wireless solutions for spinal cord and peripheral stimulation. Their focus is on assisting patients who experience chronic pain that has proven difficult to manage with traditional treatments. The Freedom® System they offer is a thoughtfully designed two-component permanent implant system, which comprises an electrode array and a separate implanted receiver, along with an external transmitter assembly. This system significantly lessens the need for frequent follow-up visits. With their minimally invasive nature, continuous Broad Therapy coverage, and the convenience of powering through clothing, these specially designed Curonix wearables are aimed at delivering enduring pain relief for patients.

Andrea earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. She successfully completed an internship in internal medicine, followed by her residency in anesthesiology at the Bethesda Naval Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. Additionally, she pursued a fellowship in pediatric anesthesia at the Children’s Hospital National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Dr. Andrea currently holds the position of Chief Medical Officer at Beaches Recovery and practices as a physician at Orles Pain and Regenerative Medicine in Jacksonville, FL. Prior to her term with Physician Partners of America, she has successfully held numerous leadership roles throughout her medical career, including owner, partner, president, vice president, treasurer, medical director, board member, and chief medical officer. Dr. Andrea is a lifetime member of both the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians and the Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians. Additionally, she is affiliated with the Alaska Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the World Institute of Pain, the North American Neuromodulation Society, and the International Neuromodulation Society.

Andrea has held several esteemed positions in the past, including roles at Florida Pain Relief Group and as Chief Medical Officer at Physician Partners of America. Dr. Andrea served as President of the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians (ASIPP). Additionally, she was the owner of the Pain and Headache Center, Director of the Pain Fellowship Program, and a partner at Blue Ridge Pain Institute, among other accomplishments.

Dr. Andrea is the founder and director of a charitable organization (501c) of a special group called Project Pain Relief that helps people feel better when they hurt. She has won many prizes for her hard work and kindness, like a special award for being really good at figuring out what is wrong with people at the Medical University of South Carolina, a nice award for helping others from a group that teaches doctors about pain, and a cool award for being a great doctor from the Florida Medical Association.

Dr. Andrea has made significant contributions to the field, having authored 200 peer-reviewed articles and textbook chapters. She serves as the editor and senior author of a comprehensive 900-page textbook titled "Peripheral Nerve Entrapments: Clinical Diagnosis and Management," as well as a work on "Peripheral Nerve Stimulation." Additionally, she is a co-author of "PainWise: A Patient’s Guide to Pain Management" and has co-edited the three-volume series "Pain Medicine & Interventional Pain Management: A Comprehensive Review," along with the recent publication "Interventional Pain: A Step-by-Step Guide for the FIPP Exam." Dr. Andrea holds board certifications in anesthesiology, critical care, pain management, interventional pain management, and addictionology. She is also an esteemed speaker, sharing her expertise on various topics related to pain medicine, interventional pain management, and addiction at national and international conferences.
