Home inspections, done right.

Bella Esposito had a knack for being methodical since her childhood. As a child, she organized her belongings systematically by type, height, and color. Decades later, this trait manifests itself in her thinking about problems in ways that automatically create a visual diagram and a list of actionable items that lead to resolution. This strategic quality is Bella’s innate tendency to plan for the future regarding her daily business decisions as a financial officer and business owner.

The three attributes which define Bella, the owner, and Chief Financial Officer of HouseMaster, are hardworking, organized, and strategic. These qualities described her before she became a business owner. Armed with 16 years of experience in Finance, Bella holds a strong work ethic, and hard work extremely dear to her. Owing to these qualities, she developed into an inspirational leader and has significantly impacted the lives of numerous individuals.

Bella shares her knowledge to help guide her team and those around her on their journey. “I received a lot of advice and guidance when I started from teachers, professors, mentors, colleagues, and other adults who had more experience at the time. So now it’s my turn to give back,” she says. “The difference with the way I mentor young adults or junior professionals from what I received is that I encourage them to use my experience as a guide, not a hard and fast rule. I explain that it’s important for them to develop their voice, perspective, and ideas. Their youth and inexperience are sometimes the ingredients needed to resolve a complex problem or create a new process.”

This steadfast leader is a self-motivated individual who always works towards the next opportunity or goal to achieve success. “I think it’s important for everyone to define what success is to them, no two people have the same definition. And with the pandemic, a lot of people have changed their own definitions of what success is. For me, success is having the flexibility of time, being well compensated for my skills/expertise, and giving back to the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs,” she explains. “But at the heart of my success is the rise and grind mentality. I may not be the smartest person in the room or have all the answers, but I guarantee I will outwork anyone to get the job done. So, my advice for young people starting their careers is to think about the life you want to live. Picture all the details, what hobbies you have, what you want to do in your free time, where you want to live, and then work backwards to find the job and career path which allows you to achieve that life.”

Armed with this mindset, Bella is taking HouseMaster to greater heights. The company’s mission is “To be so remarkable we become a beloved household name.” The team lives this mission in many ways in the day-to-day, but it starts with trust. HouseMaster is the nation’s largest home inspection franchise, with independently owned locations throughout the US and Canada. “My husband and I own a franchise in Western NJ. We live and work in the same community, so our clients are also our neighbors, friends, and fellow business owners,” says Bella. “HouseMaster has over 40 years of experience in the home inspection industry, having collectively completed over 3.5 million inspections worldwide. So, we truly are the masters at what we do, but what really sets us apart is the how. My husband and I approach each client’s home inspection like it is our own house being inspected. Home inspections is what we do, but our core business is our clients and the people we meet every day helping our business develop.”

Bella and her team invite home buyers and homeowners to learn about their homes by following along on inspections and asking questions. Educated home buyers and owners are empowered to make good decisions for their families. And HouseMaster’s work does not end when the inspection report is completed. They offer clients post-closing appointments and invite them to call the HouseMaster team well beyond their move-in dates if they have questions. “We recently completed a home inspection for a customer who originally worked with HouseMaster 20 years ago. She still had her inspection report and binder full of homeowner resources from that time,” adds Bella. “She raved about her experience from 20 years ago and said she called us back because she can’t think of any other home inspection company. That is what client trust and loyalty is all about.”
