Jeannie Whitfield serves as Vice President of Business Development for the Parts Life, Inc. Family of Companies, where she leads key areas including Capture, Contracting, Strategic Account Management, Business Intelligence, and Marketing. Her leadership has been instrumental in driving company growth and strengthening long-term partnerships within the DoD. Working at Parts Life, Inc. for over 10 years, Jeannie has played a pivotal role in the company’s major milestones and expansion efforts.
When Jeannie first joined Parts Life, Inc. in 2014, she stepped into a Business Development role, where she quicky gained experience in identifying new opportunities and conducting in-dept market analysis. Her dedication led her to work closely with President and CEO Sam Thevanayagam, earning her a promotion to Director of Business Intelligence and Market Insight. She then worked to establish the company’s BusinessIntelligence Department with data-driven insights and long-term planning from the ground up, strategically positioning Parts Life as the industry leader for obsolescence and DMSMS solutions.
Jeannie’s ability to address customer needs helped drive the growth of Parts Life Inc. as the company moved from securing sole-source contracts under the Small Business 8(a) program, to participating in larger competitive initiatives across the DoD. By emphasizing technical capability, past performance, and a commitment to the warfighter and the US taxpayer, Parts Life secured one of its first competitive contracts with the U.S. Navy.
During her tenure, Jeannie witnessed the launch of the Prototype Integration Facility in Moorestown, NJ, and was integral in the 2017 acquisition of DeVal Lifecycle Support. Deval is a Philadelphia-based manufacturer with more than 70 years of experience in support equipment manufacturing and remanufacturing for the Department of Defense.
In 2019, Parts Life, Inc. continued its growth by acquiring LC Engineers. Known for its legacy in build-to-print electro-manufacturing and supplying high-reliability military aerospace and commercial electronic components, LC Engineers further enhanced Parts Life’s capabilities, strategically aligning the company’s portfolio of full service engineering, manufacturing, and electro-manufacturing to provide tangible solutions to customers.
As her responsibilities grew, so did Jeannie’s expertise in government contracting, strategic growth, and market expansion. The successful acquisition of DeVal and LC significantly expanded the company’s capabilities, allowing for a broader and more integrated approach to Business Intelligence. It became clear that aligning capture, contracting, business development, business intelligence, and marketing under one strategy would be essential to driving sustainable growth and supporting long term success. Today, the Parts Life, Inc. Family of Companies has grown by over 400%.
“With the acquisition of DeVal and LC, the scope of Business Intelligence grew” states Jeannie. “With the expansion of our capabilities and personnel, the need to bring the capture, contracting, business development, business intelligence and marketing teams together was evident. Now, our teams collaborate effortlessly, aligning strategies and seizing opportunities to fuel our future growth.”
Jeannie also mentions the difficulties that are faced within the Department of Defense as being a catalyst for growth and opportunity for the organization. “Obsolescence and Warfighter Readiness continue to be some of the biggest challenges our industry faces” says Jeannie. “At Parts Life and DeVal, our teams have developed unique solution sets to address the needs of our customers. Having empathy to understand these critical needs has enabled us to meet our customers where they’re at, and partner with them to enable mission readiness together.“
Jeannie’s leadership style focuses on employee development. Investing in staff, offering growth opportunities, and supporting teammates in building fulfilling careers is central to the company’s mission. What sets the organization apart is its genuine commitment to helping individuals recognize their potential and develop the confidence and skills needed for long-term success. “I take pride in the company’s growth, and I'm honored to have played a role in that success. I’ve witnessed our transformation from a small team into a thriving organization. What I’m most proud of is how we develop our people. We invest in our employees, create opportunities for growth, and help them build meaningful careers. That impact—helping individuals advance and succeed—is what matters most to me.”
Whitfield continues “One of our biggest differentiators is our commitment to workforce development. We invest in our people, providing training and career growth opportunities that go beyond just filling positions—our CEO Sam Thevanayagam has created an environment where employees can discover their God given potential. Our culture encourages continuous learning, new challenges, and internal growth, creating a path for long-term success. This dedication to our people is what makes our organization truly stand out. Our culture is built on continuous improvement, and we consistently evaluate how we can enhance our processes and collaboration. As an organization, we are always striving to grow and improve. Each member of our team makes a personal and professional commitment to continuous improvement, which is evidence through our culture.”
Jeannie’s most significant professional achievement was her promotion to Vice President in 2020, shortly after the birth of her daughter. “It was a meaningful milestone that reinforced how dedication drives success, even during challenging times” states Whitfield. “My greatest accomplishment from a personal standpoint is being a mom to my six amazing kids. Nothing makes me prouder than seeing them grow, learn, and chase their dreams. I love being part of their journey and cheering them on every step of the way. Being their mom is the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done.”
“Experiencing the transformation from a small team in 2014 to today’s thriving, multi-million-dollar organization has been deeply rewarding.” Jeannie has seen firsthand the evolution of Parts Life, Inc. into a growing family of companies. This growth is rooted in a shared commitment to progress—every team member contributes to it both personally and professionally. That dedication is reflected in the company’s culture and values, which continue to guide its forward momentum.
