1. Rema Menon, Vice President – Leasing (Retail & Commercial Development), Parsvnath Developers is the creative force behind the company’s enhancement and culture. Kindly discuss some of her qualities that have transformed the company.

Together we can and we will make a difference”, is the motto she preaches and practices.

It only takes an ounce of courage to remove a ton of distress, and there is nothing that we can’t do. It is this self-belief that induced by her in the minds of her colleagues and management that helped to revive the company from a ten thousand crores debt to a few hundred crores today.

2. How is Rema inspiring and empowering team members to become great leader?

She is a team player and a staunch believer in team work. She believes that being a team player is decisive - you can’t achieve success without motivating your team members. Always practice the art of advancing your senior team members to achieve next level and train the juniors to reach your level, She calls it a “push and pull method”.

3. How long did it take you to find success? Is there any advice you would like to share from your journey?

Success…. I am still in the process. There is no shortcut, only hard work and perseverance can lead you to your destination. Don’t stop when you are tired, but only when the task is completed.

4. Who was Rema’s inspiration & how has the person influenced her?

Oprah Winfrey…Her life, how she single handedly rose from Rags to Riches. Achieved what she wanted, how bravely she faced the obstacles, it’s hard to imagine that her life was anything but perfect.

There are inescapable obstacles in the path that could stop us in our tracks but depends how good or bravely you face them and come out of it strongly that makes you an unstoppable leader and your life an inspirational success story

5. What’s a leadership or life lesson that you’ve learned that’s unique to being a female leader?

Women are a born leader. Multitasking is an inherent quality they possess; they generally take fast and decisive action. Females are generally open or to say use to criticisms/feedbacks, right from her home ,what she cooks for her family, to how she performs in her work place. Life teaches them the art of maintaining meaningful relationships, which gives a chance to develop certain skills and expertise with the guidance of people who probably know better.

6. Could you discuss the mission of Parsvnath Developers and how you are working towards the same?

The vision of PDL is to do away with all the liabilities and complete the unfinished projects. In one word we are on “Mission Completion”.

Each and every official/employee of the organization is working towards this so am I

I am doing my bit by leasing both commercial and retail spaces which are lying unleased since long time.

7. What is one of the biggest achievements of your organization owing to its revolutionary approach?

In a short span of 10 years the company was able to reduce its debts from Rs.10,000 odd crores to a few hundred crores and we are working towards fully reviving the company by next financial year.

8. What goals are you still working towards achieving?

I am working on an effective real estate business plan that will set me apart from the rest. Setting the right goals will help maneuver through the challenges and help built a successful career, probably that’s why I am improving my qualification and updating my skills. I am working on a plan thereby one can revive the real estate firm which has lost everything in this testing time. My action plan will help them grow and thrive again.

9. What is in store for the future? Both in terms of you & the company?

The real estate market has been experiencing dynamic shifts and changes over the years driven by technology advancements, demographic shifts, economic fluctuations etc. which are globally affecting the buyer / investor habits. VR has taken over the actual site visits. The present investor is happily studying this market trend and investing accordingly from any corner of the globe which is forcing/navigating the developer to adopt/leverage these technologies. PDL is also not left behind in such technological advancements; they are also offering such technologies to potential buyer helping the potential buyers an immersive and personalized experience. If you want to survive and grow here in real estate market adopt, accept and update these technological advancements.
